Our Philosophy on "Templates" and why ArcLight PEARL is different.

When you buy a template from most Webhost providers, you are often corralled into a platform that limits your ability to customize it to fit your needs. For the most part, you are "stuck" with the ability to add some content and change theme colors, but such platforms can make you feel somewhat detached from your own Website. Adding insult to injury, some template Webhost providers then try to up-sell you into buying a "custom solution" that looks and feels completely different than your template. You many even have to transfer all of your old content to your new site. What a headache.

Then, there is the other extreme; full ownership and custom development. In most cases, you'll pay a large up-front fee for development services and professional design assistance. The more customization you need, the more it costs you. You may end-up with what you want, but you'll pay a lot for it up-front if you want a functional Website. Many custom Web development services are also lacking because they don't provide you with a way for you to edit your own content without having some knowledge of FTP (File Transfer Protocol) and HTML. This is intentional as custom Web develops want you to keep coming back to them whenever you need even the most basic changes made to your content.

The difference is that instead of limiting "functionality" or "capabilities", we simply limit your server access to FTP (download) files to your hard-drive, and we don't provide cPanel® access to directly manipulate constuct files. What we do instead is provide you with a-la-carte options that require our professional Web development contractors to make server-level and file-level changes for you. In other words, you only pay for what you need, when you need it, and not a penny more. At the end of your first year with us, you will have had enough time to have customized your ArcLight PEARL platform to whatever extreme you wanted, and THEN you can decide if you are ready to purchase "access" and own your site files...including the editing system!
